Ich und mein Auto - Episode #117

Ich schwing mich heute ins Auto und will losfahren, da höre ich ein dumpfes Bzzzzzzzzzz und sehe ein mördermässig riesiges Vieh von einem fliegenden Insekt an der Windschutzscheibe kleben ... I N N E N! Nachdem ich das Auto halb in den Graben gesetzt habe und raus gesprungen bin, brachte ich eine gute Viertelstunde damit zu, das Vieh aus dem Auto zu entfernen.

Meine Werkzeuge: Eine Parkscheibe und eine Sprühflasche Glasreiniger. Nachdem ich den Innenraum gut eingeweicht habe und mit meiner Parkscheibe wie ein Profi-Frisbee-Spieler das Vieh attackiert habe, verlor ich die Bestie dummerweise aus den Augen. Als ich dann nochmal 10 Minuten gewartet habe, bin ich reingesprungen und losgefahren ... immer auf der rechten Spur um im Falle eines Falles schnell wieder abhauen zu können, aber das Biest tauchte nicht mehr auf.

Nun die Frage: Ist es rausgeflogen, habe ich es mit Glasreiniger ertränkt oder hat es sich unterm Fahrersitz versteckt und sammelt über die Nacht frische Kraft, um mich am Morgen erneut zu attackieren? Man weiß es nicht, aber ich habe eine Fliegenklatsche, eine neue Flasche Glasreiniger, Dosen-Deo und ein Feuerzeug eingepackt und werde mich meinem Wagen morgen früh bis an die Zähne bewaffnet nähern.

selenium on ExtJS

okay, time to bring in the elephants: i'm implementing selenium and plan to use it for regression testing of an extJS based webapplication...

agile vs. traditional testing ...

okay, i'm in that part of my dissertation where i am supposed to write something along the lines of agile vs. traditional testing.

i could use some input, so if anyone is reading this and willing to help a student in distress ... ;)

my tool scope

first month is over and i have to hand in my dissertation in less than 8 weeks.

can you tell that i'm getting a little nervous?

so here come the tools i decided to give a closer look:

• selenium: for regression testing and functional black-box stuff. doing that i will also check CubicTest

  ...is a graphical Eclipse plug-in for writing Selenium and Watir tests. It makes web tests faster and easier to write, and provides abstractions to make tests more robust and reusable.

  ... we'll see about that ;)
• robotframework 2.1: to go keyword driven and check the possibilities to combine it with selenium tests.
• JMeter: 'cause i need to get some performance and load testing done

an add-on made of awesome: zotero

last week i stumbled upon zotero - a most awesome firefox add-on! it lets you collect, manage and cite your research resources.
best thing: you can create snapshots of the resources, highlight text passages and export the whole thing so you can attach it to your dissertation.
now ain't that cool?!

am using the tool for a little over a week now and am totally convinced.

go get it > zotero!
